Professional TV Bracket Installation
Mounting a television involves more than choosing a space on the wall. The screen weight, bracket, fixings, wall construction and viewing angle all need to work together.
Our installer checks the proposed position and looks for practical cable and power routes. We can also discuss soundbars, set-top boxes, games consoles and streaming devices so everything has a sensible place.
Once the plan is agreed, the bracket and television are fitted with care. The screen is then levelled, connected and checked before the work is complete.

TV Mounting for Different Wall Types
The wall decides the fixing method. The engineer checks what is behind the surface before drilling, and will tell you if a different position or extra support is safer.
Brick and concrete
Solid walls usually give the strongest fixing when the right masonry fixings are used, and suit even large, heavy screens.
Plasterboard and stud walls
The bracket needs to fix into the timber or metal studs, or use fixings rated for the load. Stud positions are found before any holes are made.
Dot and dab walls
Plasterboard stuck to brick leaves a gap behind the board. Longer fixings that reach the solid wall stop the board cracking under the weight.
Media and feature walls
Timber-framed media walls need solid backing where the bracket goes. Building one? Add plywood backing and a cable route before it is boarded.
Important: not every wall or position is suitable for every television. If a safer alternative is needed, the engineer will explain why before any work starts.
Choosing a TV Bracket
The right bracket depends on where the TV is going, how you watch it and what the wall can support.

What is a VESA pattern?
VESA is the spacing of the four screw holes on the back of your TV, measured in millimetres, such as 200 x 200 or 400 x 400. The bracket must support your TV's VESA pattern and be rated above the weight of the screen. You can find both in your TV's manual.
Supplying your own bracket?
That is fine. The engineer will check it matches your TV's VESA pattern and weight and suits your wall. If it is not suitable, they will explain why before suggesting an alternative, and the choice is yours.
How High Should a Wall-Mounted TV Be?
A TV can be perfectly secure and still be uncomfortable to watch if it is too high. We plan the height around where you actually sit.
Living rooms
As a guide, the centre of the screen should be close to your eye level when seated, which for most sofas is roughly 100 to 110cm from the floor.
Bedrooms
You usually watch from higher up or lying down, so a slightly higher position with a tilting bracket is often more comfortable.
Above a fireplace
This often puts the screen too high, and heat can affect the TV. Check the manufacturer's guidance, and consider a tilting bracket if it has to go there.
Glare and light
Windows and lamps opposite the screen cause reflections. A small change in position or tilt can make daytime viewing much better.
Hiding TV Cables and Planning Connections
A clean installation depends on planning every connection before the television goes on the wall. That avoids stretched leads, blocked sockets and devices with nowhere to sit.
Power
Confirm the socket location and a safe cable route.

Allow for set-top boxes, consoles and streaming sticks.

Check the aerial or satellite lead reaches the new position.

Your cable tidying options
- Surface trunking: a neat channel that runs down the wall, can be painted to match, and leaves the wall intact.
- Inside a stud wall: cables can often be run through the cavity behind the plasterboard for a hidden finish.
- Solid walls: fully hiding cables in brick means chasing the wall and making it good, so trunking is often the practical choice.
A note on power sockets
Mains power cables should only be hidden in a safe and compliant way. If you want a new socket behind the TV, a qualified electrician may be needed. The engineer will tell you if this applies to your setup.

Yes. Dot and dab plasterboard has a gap behind it, so longer fixings that reach the solid wall behind are used. This stops the board cracking or pulling away under the weight of the TV.
Which type of TV bracket should I choose?
A fixed bracket gives the slimmest, close-to-the-wall finish. A tilting bracket suits higher positions and rooms with glare. A full-motion bracket lets you angle the screen towards different seats but needs a strong fixing.

Can you mount a soundbar under the TV?
Soundbar mounting and connection can often be done at the same visit. It depends on the soundbar, available bracket options, the wall and the cable route to the TV.
Can you mount large or heavy TVs, including Sky Glass?

Can you connect my aerial, Sky box or streaming devices?
Existing aerial leads, satellite receivers, set-top boxes, games consoles, soundbars and streaming devices are planned into the cable route and reconnected. If the aerial or satellite feed needs moving to the new position, we can quote for that too.
Can I get a TV wall mounted in a rented home?
Yes, but check your tenancy agreement and get your landlord's permission first, as drilling into walls usually needs their consent. We also mount TVs for landlords and letting agents.
